The active storm towards Gujarat will bring heavy to very heavy rains in these cities


Less pressure has been created in the southeast and the surrounding eastern region of the Arabian Sea and Lakshadweep.  Over the next 24 hours this pressure will take the form of a hurricane, and it will result in a heavy cyclone.  The storm is likely to move north from the morning of June 2.  Due to which, a hurricane is likely to hit the coastal areas of North Maharashtra and South Gujarat from June 3.  Earlier, the cyclone was heading towards Oman, but now it has shifted to Gujarat.

Arpan Kaidawala / Ahmedabad: Less pressure has been created in the south-east and surrounding eastern region of the Arabian Sea and Lakshadweep.  Over the next 24 hours this pressure will take the form of a hurricane, and it will result in a heavy cyclone.  The storm is likely to move north from the morning of June 2.  Due to which, a hurricane is likely to hit the coastal areas of North Maharashtra and South Gujarat from June 3.  Earlier, the cyclone was heading towards Oman, but now it has shifted to Gujarat.

 Low pressure has become active in the East Central Arabian Sea near the South East.  Which will turn into a low pressure depression tomorrow, June 1st.  The June 2 depression will turn into a hurricane and move on.  The meteorological department has forecast that it will reach the coasts of Gujarat and Maharashtra on June 3.  Then this low pressure will become a hurricane on June 3 and reach the coast of Gujarat.  This is followed by heavy to very heavy rains on June 4 and 5.

Districts including Diu have been forecast to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall by the meteorological department.

 The storm is expected to hit Dwarka, Okha and Morbi in Gujarat and move towards Kutch.  Like other previous storms, it could cause severe damage to Kandla and surrounding areas of Kutch.  Currently, following the deep depression created in the Arabian Sea, signal number 1 has been installed on the coast of Gujarat.  Fishermen have also been instructed not to plow the sea.
