Rakesh Pandey, a resident of Kopaganj in Mau, was involved in several sensational incidents. Ajay Prakash Singh alias Manna Singh, a contractor in Mau, was accused of serious offenses along with Mukhtar Ansari in the double murder of others.
Rakesh Pandey, the bounty hunter who was shot dead in the encounter, has a long criminal history. Serious clauses have been registered in 10 cases in Rae Bareli, Ghazipur and Mau, including the capital Lucknow.
