Rainy weather has prevailed in the state. Twelve clouds are expected in the state for the next five days. The meteorological department has issued a red alert for rains in the state for the next three days. Heavy rains are likely in some places in the state, especially on August 14 and 15. After that, the intensity of rain will decrease a little for two to three days. However, heavy rains will continue in some places.
Currently an upper air cyclonic circulation is active over South Gujarat. On the other hand, a low pressure has also been created in the Bay of Bengal. It is expected to strengthen further in the next two days. In addition, an upper air cyclonic system is also prevailing over South Pakistan and West Rajasthan. While the monsoon axis over North India will shift over the next two days and become active over Central India. Under the effect of which, there is a possibility of continuous rain in Gujarat till next 25th August.
In addition, humid winds are blowing from the Arabian Sea towards the land. Fishermen have been told not to plow the sea in this situation. Following the heavy rain forecast by the meteorological department, 14 NDRF teams have been placed on stand-by in different districts. The state is likely to receive heavy rains in Kutch, Banaskantha, Patan, Morbi, Jamnagar, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Gandhinagar, Porbandar, Gir Somnath, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Surat, Valsad and Ahmedabad.
