Hospital director Bharat Mahant has been detained and questioned by the police in the case. At the same time, the staff of the hospital was also questioned one by one when the incident took place. The refilling was done through the hospital's bank account.

Jyotibahen Sindhi was undergoing treatment on the bed of ward number 9 in the ICU. Preliminary findings are that there was a fire in the switch board near her bed. Attempts were made to extinguish the fire by ordering a bucket of water as Jyotibahen's hair started burning. However, the patients were on oxygen.
