1,500 crore 500 kg heroin smuggling, gang working with Pak citizens
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet against eight people, including an international narco-terror gang operating from Pakistan and Dubai, in connection with the smuggling of 500 kg of heroin worth Rs 1,500 crore off the coast of Gujarat.
NIA spokesperson Sonia Narang said that according to the NIA's investigation, the gang working with Pakistani nationals had brought the heroin to the Gujarat coast in three trips. All three consignments were sent to Punjab.

According to Narang, one of the three consignments of 188 kg of heroin was seized by the Special Task Force of Amritsar Police. All three consignments were sent to Punjab. Out of which a consignment of 188 kg was seized.
The investigation has uncovered links between narco smugglers from Pakistan, Gujarat and Punjab. The case is also related to heroin worth Rs 15 crore seized from Salya village in Gujarat Devbhoomi Dwarka district. Accused Aziz Abdul Baghdad was arrested in this connection.
Defendants arrested
The accused arrested by the NIA are Aziz Abdul Baghdad, Rafiq Ahmed Sumra, Nazir Ahmed Lassi Mohammad, Arshad Abdul Razzaq Sota, Manzoor Ahmed Mir, Razzaq Adam Sumra, Karim Mohammad Siraj and Sunil Vittal Barmas. The NIA has been investigating the case since July 20 this year.
